You can create a new account ANYTIME. When logged into OpenVPN network, the entire login session including the transmission of the password is encrypted; almost impossible for any outsider to collect passwords. Compared to the Telnet remote shell protocols which send the transmission, e.g. the password in a plain text, OpenVPN was basically designed to replace Telnet and other insecure remote shell with encryption to provide anonymity and security through unsecured network. In short, it provides a much safer environment for browsing.

What is OpenVPN?

OpenVPN is an open-source commercial software that implements virtual private network (VPN) techniques to create secure point-to-point or site-to-site connections in routed or bridged configurations and remote access facilities.

It uses a custom security protocol that utilizes SSL/TLS for key exchange. It is capable of traversing network address translators (NATs) and firewalls. It was written by James Yonan and is published under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
